***DEEPLY DISCOUNTED PRICE FOR A LIMITED TIME*** In this four week flexible schedule class, learners (with their caregivers) will collect natural elements to be used in an original illustration. A collection of found leaves, flowers, twigs, and sands are a great way to start talking about shapes and textures, colors and forms. Learners in this program will experience artistic planning and exploration, materials, creative thinking and problem solving as well as visual communication and imaginative story telling.
Leading learners to artistic discovery is my passion and with young art explorers the world is both canvas and tool. My experiences teaching learners in this age group means that my program will be presented in bite sized tasks, each new task building skills from the previous. My goal is always to lead explorers to their own discoveries and arm them with the tools to make those artistic discoveries outside the classroom.
Learners will be given handouts to work from, they will be printable or can be used as a guide. Learners will also be given video material to view on the computer/device. Learners will want to have construction paper, an old painting project - stiff cardboard - or small canvas (dollar store canvas is fine), wax paper, heavy books for pressing found flowers or leaves, white glue, drawing materials such as markers, colored pencils, crayons, etc.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Caregivers should expect to aid young learners with their time management and technology usage. Sharing in the classroom will be an expected part of this program.
