Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello and Welcome to the Natural World!
Do you love science and exploring nature? I sure do, and I love to share the adventure with learners of all ages.
I have a BA in Elementary and Special Education from Michigan State University, with 35 years experience teaching students of all ages. I have taught Natural Sciences in public and private schools, as well as home school cooperatives and summer camps. I virtually visit China each morning to teach ESL online. For a profitable hobby, I am a nature and wildlife photographer.
My classes are interactive with guided discussion and discovery learning. I prioritize foundational learning skills and critical thinking over memorized facts. Children will learn the scientific method in many of my classes.
I strive for high learner engagement and student output. I hope that all my students leave class excited and equipped for independent learning and discovery in the natural world.
I offer classes in Ecology, Earth Science, Biology, Zoology, Botany, and Photography, and Writing. I am available for tutoring in Science, Math, English, and Social Studies/History.
