Description

Class Experience

This class is taught in English.
Students will improve their writing by careful selection word choice, ideas, imagery, sentence fluency.
Students will become very comfortable with dissecting poetry for figurative language. Students will also incorporate figurative language seamlessly into their own writing.
I have been a middle and high school English Language Arts teacher for a decade. I also coached teams for Odyssey of the Mind and Lego First Robotics. I am very comfortable teaching students of varying backgrounds and abilities. I have two boys ages 8 and 10 who have severe ADHD.
Students will need a composition notebook and erasers from the Dollar Store. The scented erasers at the Dollar Store are the best.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Verbal feedback is given directly to each student in to class during writing and writing shares.
50 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
