Description
Class Experience
Each day students will gain more knowledge about nature in each of the challenges as well as a deeper understanding of using nature studies.
As an avid nature lover, my children and I spend a majority of our time in the outdoors, observing and learning from Mother Nature. I also lead our homeschool nature group in the activities that you will find in the Nature Explorer series.
As this is a flexible schedule class, there will be weekly activities (see the listed schedule for details) for the learner to complete and upload to the classroom. Learners may upload the activities, photos, videos or post directly into the weekly discussions. Learners will need to respond to the discussion questions by the same means as the activities.
Students will need a notebook for recording their nature activities and a pencil. Each day in the classroom, I will provide the worksheets and nature journal pages. In addition, any videos or materials will be posted in the classroom.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
- Variety of nature websites
- Google Docs
- Edpuzzle
No live meetings, and an estimated 2 - 4 hours per week outside of class.
Parental guidance will be need for the nature walks and some of the nature activities. Parental help will be needed to complete any optional extension activity.
