πΈWatch your elementary student BLOSSOM in their sketching skills! πΏGROW their knowledge of plantsβthey wonβt even realize theyβre learning. πΌEnjoy the outdoors with them as they go on scavenger hunts to find the nature items theyβll need for the art projects. SCHEDULE Week of April 17th: Element of Line | Monocots, Dicots, and Conifers Week of April 24th: Element of Texture | Parts of a Plant Week of May 1st: Element of Shape | Shapes of Leaves Week of May 8th: Element of Color | Parts of a Flower Week of May 15th: Element of Value | Photosynthesis Week of May 22nd: Element of Space | Plant Life Cycle Week of May 29th: Element of Form | Seasons CLASS TOPICS πΏ Weβll introduce the element of line through monocots, dicots, and conifers. Although this is usually a complicated subject for students, theyβll realize how simple it is when we just look at the lines! π₯ Students will discover texture all over nature. Weβll get outside and look for some as well as parts of a plant. π Did you know there are two categories of shapes? Weβll learn about them and find them in nature while practicing our painting skills. πΈWhy are flowers so colorful? Weβll answer this question as we learn about warm and cool colors as well as the importance of the parts of a flower and pollination. βοΈ Can you really learn about something as complex as photosynthesis through art? YES! I love breaking down this process step-by-step for kids as we explore the element of value. πΌ Spaceβno, not outer spaceβis an important yet forgotten element of art. Weβll learn how to use it as we sketch the life cycle of a plant. π Finally, letβs make it 3D with our last art project! Weβll deep-dive into the purpose of each season as we create an awe-inspiring creation. Students will need to be able to: -Follow multi-step instructions -Cut with a pair of scissors -Follow a directed drawing -Color in the lines SUPPLIES -Printed worksheet (sent to you on Monday morning each week) -Crayons and colored pencils (no markers) -Scissors -Gluestick -Washable paint and paintbrush (Week 3 only) -Nature items (these will be sent to you each week before the class) See you soon! -Ms. Abbey

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in Education from Pensacola Christian College
Hi! Iβm Ms. Abbey.
I teach kids to love art through animals, travel, and step-by-step instruction.
I truly believe art class is for EVERYONE, not just the natural artist. The scientist, nature-lover, athlete, wanna-be vet, and gamer can all find fun and a sense of accomplishment in art.
Thatβs why Iβve made my brand ARTventurous Animals.
My classes are engaging, full of animals and adventure, and uncomplicated π¨
I have a Bachelorβs of Science in Elementary Education and have taught in a brick-and-mortar classroom for 4 years. But even after substituting, teaching 3rd grade, teaching Kindergarten, and teaching English in Thailand, being an online art teacher has been my favorite! I now have 3 years of online teaching experience.
I believe children should be guided to be their best self. This means creating extra tasks for gifted students, challenging the average, and reaching out and individually assisting the reluctant learners. I also believe that art is for everyone! Anyone can draw, anyone can create, anyone can imagine.
A fun fact about me is that I live in Bangkok, Thailand! I have also been to 18 countries on 3 different continents.
My husband and I have 2 wonderful little kids. They're the reason Iβve chosen to be an online teacher and stay-at-home mom.
My ARTventurous Animals brand has lots more than just classes! Check it out here--> https://artventurousanimals.com/
