Class Experience

In this edition of Ms. Tammi's not so popular holiday classes we will be celebrating National Scavenger Hunt Day!

Students will compete in a scavenger hunt to find items during short, licensed clips of popular children's films.

Licensed film clips, approximately three minutes long, will be shown through Fandago's YouTube channel. Students will watch carefully trying to tick off as many boxes and earn as many points as possible during each film clip.

This is a really fun way for kids to practice observation, and recall skills, as well as develop critical thinking skills. Not all the items will be worth equal values. Is it better to go for all the two point flowers, or do you look hard to find the fifty point brown shoe?

At the conclusion of each clip students will need to present their findings, and describe the location of each item.

We will play as many rounds as time allows!

Clips will be gathered from a range of popular animated favorite films. These films may include titles such as: Sing, Home, Anastasia, Shrek, Spirit, or The Lorax.

Learning Goals

Students will develop observation and recall skills as well as work on their sportsmanship and critical thinking.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I'm an avid reader, and an author.
I was never so surprised in all my life as when my son told me he "just wasn't into reading" and that he thought "writing was the worst part of school." I had to think quick before he missed out on all the magic that I knew was waiting for him within the pages of books.
And so family book club was born. And then books and friends, and soon my house was overflowing with reluctant readers bouncing up and down and waiting desperately to tell Miss Tammi all their favorite bits from last week's reading.
I have spent ten years coaxing children into eager readers and confident writers. I love to watch those smiles light up when they realize there is a whole hidden world inside of books. In that world they never need to try to fit in, or please other people. In that world they are welcomed, they are wanted, and they are inspired.
