In this one time class students will have fun on national pie day by making their very own! We will be going over a basic NO BAKE recipe that is great for beginners. The Pie will need to be left in the fridge for some time after class ends (about 1-2 hours until set) but the pies will be created and assembled all together in class. We will go over measurements, baking basics, and a little pie history. A list of ingredients needed can be found both here in the description and in more detail...
This class is taught in English.
~1 package graham crackers (any flavor) ~8 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted ~16 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips (about 2 Cups) ~2 and 1/4 cups heavy cream ~1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, AT ROOM TEMPERATURE ~ Additional 1 and 1/2 cups heavy cream (for topping) ~1/4 cup confectioners' sugar You will also need : ~ pie tin or dish ~ Stand or hand Mixer ~ Optional Whisk ~ Gallon size bag for crushing graham crackers ~ Mixing bowls (2 to 3) ~ measuring utensils ~ Heat Source such as stove top or microwave
1 hour 5 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
We will need to melt chocolate either using a saucepan on a stovetop or a bowl in the microwave.
