Class Experience

Students will learn how to engage in thoughtful conversation, acquire skills that will help them master reading comprehension, learn about other books they might enjoy, create friendships with others who have shared interests.
Each student will receive a 32 page journal PDF before class begins.

Before week 1's meeting, the students should read the first three chapters of the book and complete the sections listed for chapters 1 and 2. We will go through chapter 3 together. Each week's format is laid out in similar fashion where the student will have journal prompts, questions and vocabulary words to engage with the book through research, writing and drawing.

Students have the option of creating a diorama of a scene in the book, a character vision board for one of the characters in the book, a collage of an event they have experienced in their lives similar to the book. These will be presented week 4. If your child a another idea, please feel free to connect with me on it - I love creative ideas!
