In this 4 week course, we will discuss the book Nancy Clancy Secret Admirer. The students will be provided a journal PDF with a structured format that will help them strengthen comprehension skills through the use of authentic literature.

Class Experience

This course is broken down into 4 weeks and will allow the student to experience the full scope and sequence of how to effectively read for comprehension.
The first 5 minutes of class we will read along with a section in the book.
The next 10 minutes we will play a flash round of "What do you remember" where we quickly run through in a group setting some fun information taken from the chapters we have read - think of Jeopardy!
The next 20 minutes we will go through the reflection questions in our journals.
The final 10 minutes we will talk about our impressions of the book thus far and what the expectations are for the next class.
The students will also have an opportunity to create their own art project based on the book.

Before Week 1:
Read Chapters 1-3 (24 pages)

Read Chapters 4-6 (32 pages)
Journal pages 9-14

Before Week 3:
Read Chapters 7-9 (28 pages)
Journal pages 15-20

Before Week 4:

Robin  Norgren, M.A.Th, is a Montessori teacher living in Apache Junction,  Arizona.  She earned her Undergraduate degree in Management from Arizona  State University and her Masters Degree in Theology from Fuller  Theological  Seminary.  She has completed her AMS Montessori Primary  Certification  and is in the process of completing her AMI Montessori  Primary  Certification.  Her recent accolades include helping to develop  a  Montessori based preschool that serves as a integration program for  students with Autism.  She also taught Montessori Kindergarten and  developed a curriculum that combined Montessori practices with Common  Core Standards.  In 2020, she created a K-6th Common Core Aligned Art program for a Mesa Charter School and had the privilege of teaching at the school.
 
Josey's  Art School was started as a passion project because Robin saw that art  education  was diminishing in the elementary school curriculum.  She has  created  and developed over 300 art lessons and has taught in classrooms,   community centers and after school programs all over Arizona and   Virginia.  
 
Josey's art school offers many types of creativity programs for kids and adults.  We bring all equipment and supplies to you. I teach Pre-K to 6th Grade age appropriate lessons on the elements and principles of Art while incorporating Art history and fun!

Bright Child Montessori  creates  lesson plans to guide the Montessori Teacher through the army of albums  prepared through the traditional AMS Montessori Certification process. 

Bright Child Studio  provides kids with the opportunity to experience the joy found in participating in musical theatre.  We provide a fun atmosphere and versatile class options that will allow your Bright Child to SHINE. One of our newest ventures is to teach and inspire students to become small business owners, taking an idea and bringing to the marketplace in a way that builds life skills and prepares them to be adaptable and flexible contributors in the world.
