Students will learn about cells and how they receive nutrients by doing an experiment with eggs. Science process skills will be reinforced throughout experiment and learn how to write short science lab report to communicate their findings.

Description

Class Experience

Students will learn how to:
   Carry out an experiment using science method.
   Utilize science process skills.
   Communicate experimental findings by writing short lab report
   Improve on their science writing by applying new terms to communicate their results.
The only homework is a short science lab report.
Students can share their document with me and I can suggest changes throughout.
I will grade the report according to a rubric.
1 or 2 uncooked eggs with a white shell vinegar corn syrup water salt food scale (if possible) 1 see through cup or container big enough to fit one egg A guide sheet will be provided on first day
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Students will be assessed on their writing and given specific feedback on how to improve their science writing.
This will give the students a head start to the new school year in preparation for science class.
30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
