Myths are stories that people tell to explain the world, and how the forces that shape the world interact. Some of the best-known myths come from ancient Greece -- some of these stories are nearly 3,000 years old! In this one-time live online class, we'll explore the myth of Atalanta, the fastest woman in the world. Atalanta's father says she has to get married, and she agrees, on one condition -- the man she marries must beat her in a footrace. Along comes Hippomenes, with a secret that could help him win the race. Who will win? Join this story time and find out! Along the way, we'll get a glimpse of the ancient Greek culture, which was much different from the ones we live in. My friend Sam will be joining us. Sam is a shy but curious cat who magically morphs between puppet and digital forms. Fair warning: Sam has a habit of showing up in the story!
