In this class, students will be creating a warning poster that reflects the dark mythology of mermaids.

US Grade 2 - 5
Mermaids are not always the nice creatures of fairytales. Students will view a brief presentation on mermaid mythology from around the world. Students will interact by suggesting three things that seem factual during the presentation and answering teacher prompted essential questions. Students will also talk about why mermaids are often not seen as factual entities, but instead are considered myths as a whole group. Large white paper Black ink or marker Coloring Materials
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Mermaids are violent and they kiss but violence will be minimized for young learners.
