Hello friends of Percy Jackson! We’ve recently run into a problem here at camp. Dionysus was doing his part to help put out the food and drink for the spirits during the festival of Anthesteria (like an Ancient Greek All Soul’s Day.) But then, Hermes lost his cell phone (which turns into the staff - Caduceus) somewhere when he was wandering around camp checking spirit jars. Every year he uses Caduceus to help keep the spirits under control during the festival. Will you help us find his cell...
I believe that learning should be fun. Students will learn about and test their knowledge of Greek Mythology. Using their imagination and literary devices like foreshadowing, flashbacks, symbolism and imagery in storytelling they will work together to solve problems and “battle” a mythological monster
I spent 6 years as an ESL teacher where I taught hundreds of kids about Halloween. Also I have an MA in English Education.
To participate in the costume contest, students are encouraged to wear a costume or dress up like their Half-blood house
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
We will be referring to the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series by Rick Riordan. Students are encouraged but not required to have read the first book 'The Lightning Thief
