US Grade 4 - 7
History is filled with mysteries! While we can study artifacts (clues), they only give us small glimpses of the truth behind them. In this ongoing class, students will learn about some of the strangest events, places, and disappearances that have baffled researchers for years! I use storytelling to bring these events to life and engage the students in the conversation! I like to remind each new student that this class is a lot of fun and sometimes frustrating! We will examine both scientific and logical explanations, as well as supernatural and science fiction. It is always left up to the students to decide what they think makes the most sense! Prepare for lots of conversations, critical thinking, and lots of head scratching. Week of July 8: Curse of the Mummy Week of July 15: Hum in the Sky Week of July 22: Winchester Mystery House Week of July 29: Atlantis Week of August 5: Bermuda Triangle Week of August 12: Mary Celeste Week of August 19: The Dancing Plague Week of August 26: Lock Ness Monster Week of September 2: DB Cooper Week of September 9: Amelia Earhart

Parental Guidance
Due to some of the topics discussed, this class may not be suitable for all learners.
As with many stories in history, some of these mysteries involve death. Although we will not discuss the details in depth, students will be aware that people died in some of these mysteries. There will be no pictures of deceased individuals and conversations will be steered away from discussing deaths in any great length.

Bachelor's Degree in Education from Northern Arizona University
Hello families! I’m Amanda and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to teach your learner! I love everything about education and feel consider being a teacher as part of who I am. It is my passion!
I have a bachelor's degree in elementary and special education, two active teaching licenses in Arizona and reading and ESL endorsements. I've been teaching since 2017 and I'm working towards a master's in child and adolescent development.
My goal as your learner’s teacher is to inspire them to be lifelong learners. Learning is scary and requires a lot of vulnerability to take chances knowing you could make a mistake. I pride myself on helping students feel safe, confident, and secure in themselves. I’ve always seen tremendous growth in students when they are in an environment that allows for them to safely make mistakes and learn from them.
I’m looking forward to meeting your learner and joining them in their educational journey!
