Join in this class for some holiday fun! This course is all about creativity. We will be reading the book The Littlest Reindeer by Brandie Dougherty, Illustrated by Michelle Todd and drawing our own reindeer. Our learners will be encouraged to use their creativity, this will be a free hand drawing class. I will not be teaching how to draw a reindeer, but will encourage our learners to draw their reindeer however they would like and envision one! We will be creating names for our reindeer and building a story- Are they one of Santa's reindeer? What is their favorite holiday treat? Where do they live? What is their favorite thing about the Christmas holiday? Do they have a family or roam on their own? Learners will take turns discussing and sharing with each other. My teaching style is interactive! This class is created to encourage creativity and peer to peer interaction. It gives learners a great opportunity to use their imagination, work on skills to create and then share their ideas with their peers!
Learning Goals
Learners in this class will learn to build a story while using their own creative ideas, work on listening to their peers when someone is sharing and how to take turns.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Welcome, thank you for taking an interest in my classes! My name is Katlin, I hold a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations and Masters in Public Administration. I currently work within the non-profit sector as an Executive Director and am a mom of 2. I love the opportunity to work within the community and with all ages across our departments. I taught at the pre-k level for 3 years, worked with youth 3-12 years of age in a summer program for 7 years and have the opportunity to mentor ages 12-18 within my career over the past 13 years.
I'm excited for the opportunity to teach within this platform sharing knowledge, helping students grow confidence and getting them inspired through creativity!
In my work experience I have interviewed across multiple backgrounds and levels of part-time, full-time and the Executive level. I believe making the smallest adjustment in pre and post interview prep and answering open-ended interview questions successfully can make a difference in getting a job. I am excited about holding an interactive class to help students gain confidence in the overall interview process from prepping to the post-thank you! I look forward to hearing from the students, sharing tips and sharing some real life examples to help along the way!
In my time teaching I loved watching student's creativity unfold! When you give a child the space to create and share their ideas you can see the excitement and confidence grow. As a teacher seeing a child get excited about what they're creating is one of the best experiences! I am looking forward to the opportunity to hold classes to bring out creativity and great discussion.
I hope to see you in the classroom to gain knowledge, confidence and feel inspired!
