Description

Class Experience

In this ongoing class we will increase our Spanish vocabulary by reading them in context within a simple story. 
 
Each week we will focus on pronunciation and use of a set of vocabulary words with the help of illustrations.

Class time will consist of vocabulary review (spelling, pronunciation and examples) and a visual story time along with some time for discussion, question/response exercises and a grammar component. Worksheets and additional resources for work outside of the classroom are...

-Learners will acquire new vocabulary
-Learners will perfect pronunciation 
-Learners will interact in Spanish with each other 
-Learners will cultivate an appreciation for stories in other languages
-Learners will explore simple syntax and grammar, as well as translation.

Maestra Zia is a native Spanish speaker and has two degrees from the University of Puerto Rico. She lived on the island for over 20 years and has worked with the Department of Education there teaching children from Kindergarten through High school. She has also successfully raised fully bilingual children of her own. 
Maestra Zia greatly enjoys providing simultaneous interpretation for the Hispanic and English-speaking community where she lives.
