Students will be able to apply their understanding of introductory psychology concepts to real-life music and personal experiences. Students will learn and apply the psychology theories surrounding learning and motivation, development, attachment, and interpersonal relationships.
I have seven years of teaching experience and studied psychology during my undergraduate career. I love to make learning hands-on and applicable to students' lives. As someone who currently works in the humanities, I see the value that having an understanding of human development and psychology can have in our daily lives.
Students will have the option to preview a psychology article and research their owns songs that connect to class content outside of class meetings
Students will be informally (formatively) assessed through in-class discussions, activities, and review games. At the end of two weeks, students will choose their own song to analyze using psychology theories.
3 hours 40 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
