Description

Class Experience

Resist is a wonderful way to use a little bit of science to make something beautiful! In each class, we will use oil pastels and watercolor paint to make beautiful and memorable art. We will use works by great artists as inspiration in creating our own resist paintings.

Day One: Flowers (similar to Georgia O'Keeffe)
Day Two: Starry Night (similar to Vincent Van Gogh)
Day Three: A Bridge with Water Lilies (similar to Claude Monet)
Day Four: A Cafe (similar to Vincent Van Gogh)

If time...

Students will make 4 pieces of resist art using great art as inspiration.  If there is time, they will also be guided in giving and receiving compliments graciously.

Every learner needs to have white paper, a pencil, oil pastels, watercolor paint, a paintbrush, and a cup of water. (Paper towels and protection for their work surface are handy too!)

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

3 hours 20 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
