Class experience
In this private class, students will learn the ukulele basics from learning the different parts and learn how to tune their instrument, to learning the three basic chords that will allow them to play at least their first 3 or 4 songs. The class is designed for students to learn at their own pace and maybe spend the rest of the time to complete the hour to practice what we learned during our meeting. I am a professional singer, teaching artist, mindfulness coach and music therapist. I have been working with all kinds of students with and without special needs through my music therapy practice and have been a teaching artist for different organizations, public library, local contemporary art museum, etc. My classes are always a little more than just a ukulele class where the learner will be guided by their own level and abilities.

1 file available upon enrollmentA TUNER- An electronic tuner or any Tuning app will work. A STURDY CHAIR/space to sit preferably a chair with NO arm rests where feet can be flat on the floor IS highly RECOMMENDED and will make a huge difference on how the student can play the instrument, get focused and works their hand/eye finger coordination. Taking this class on the bed, family couch, high bar stool chairs or swingy office chair/stool is NOT RECOMMENDED for better attention and not develop a bad posture and habit. If house or learning space is loud have headphones available.
Student WILL NEED a tuner, any electronic tuner or any application for the smart phone or tablet would work. I will also be adding songs and chord charts as needed, these can be kept physically in a folder/binder or downloaded and be available to be used electronically.
