Come spell and create cool builds with the element blocks found in Minecraft
Class experience
This class is Minecraft meets chemistry meets spelling meets creative builds! I will share multiple examples of my Minecraft builds that include words spelled with periodic table symbol blocks. Then we will work together from a list I provide to choose a few words that can be spelled with periodic table symbols. After we locate the blocks needed and spell our word, I will teach the students which elements these symbols represent and we will talk about where they can be found in real life....
-Learn the names and symbols of different elements as well as where the elements can be found in real life -Practice spelling various words -Creatively illustrate words spelled with periodic table symbols
I have taught over 4,000 students on Outschool and countless others outside the platform. I love using creative, fun and silly methods to reach my students.

In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Students must have a Minecraft account. The purchase of Minecraft must be made separately before class. Students will need access to Minecraft education edition which can be activated on Minecraft Bedrock edition. I will go over how to turn this on in settings during class, but you must check that you have one of the following: YES: Minecraft Bedrock Edition including Windows 10, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, mobile iOS, iPad and Android, Minecraft Education Edition NO: Java Edition, Xbox 360, Playstation 3 Students will NOT be playing in the same server or realm together. They will NOT need to share gamertags. Each student will work individually on their own device. We will all share our builds at the end of class by holding up our device or doing screen share on zoom. All levels of Minecraft players from beginner to advanced will have the skills needed to complete the builds.
