Class Experience

Intermediate Level
Explore the geography and countries of Africa like never before - through Minecraft! In this interactive and educational class, students will embark on a virtual journey to discover the geography, capitals, flag and more for each country in Africa, all while building and creating in Minecraft.

Each week, we will cover five different countries, progressing through the entire African continent over the course of the class. Students will have access to a variety of engaging activities and resources, including short video lessons about each country, coloring pages to decorate, and build maps to help them recreate each country in their Minecraft game.

To further enhance their learning, students will participate in a weekly word search featuring the names of the covered countries and their capital cities. Students can share their work in the classroom to receive personalized feedback and encouragement from the teacher.

At the beginning of each week you will receive:
-short video lesson highlighting the covered countries
-build map to help you recreate the country inside Minecraft
-coloring page of the country flag
-word search pertaining to the countries that week

Inside Minecraft students will learn how to:
-recreate the shape of each country
-construct a sign with the country name and capital city
-record a fun fact in the book and quill
