Want to sharpen your sketching skills and focus the anime anatomy? Want to work with different body types and genders? This class is designed for you! In this 12-week course, students focus on how to draw the full human form through My Hero Academia. This is broken down into different categories such as front profile, side profile, and angled positions! In this art class, students investigate basic drawing techniques and measuring skills. Students will learn to manipulative the human form to create a well proportioned anime character. Students will have a chance to work with an array of different style of clothing. This includes hero costumes, daily wear, school uniforms, and accessories. Students will leave this class feeling confident that they can create their own anime character that is fully clothed. Students should expect to draw one character within a session. This class is designed for the anime fan who wants to take their drawings to the next level. Art experience is not necessary but helpful. Some basic understanding of the anime body is helpful. ITINERARY: 💥 Week 1: Izuku Midoriya (Deku): Front profile: School Uniform. 💥 Week 2: Katsuki Bakugo (Kacchan): Front profile: Daily Clothing. 💥 Week 3: Kyoka Jiro (Earphone Jack): Front profile: School Uniform. 💥 Week 4: Ochaco Uraraka (Uravity): Side profile: School Uniform. 💥 Week 5: Shoto Todoroki: Angled position: Daily Clothing. 💥 Week 6: Tenya Iida: Angled position: Daily Clothing. 💥 Week 7: Momo Yaoyorozu: Angled position: Hero Uniform. 💥 Week 8: Ejiro Kirishima: Front profile: School Uniform. 💥 Week 9: Denki Kaminari: Angled position: School Uniform. 💥 Week 10: Mina Ashido: Angled position: Hero Uniform. 💥 Week 11: Tsuyu Asui (Froppy): Angled position: School Uniform. 💥 Week 12: Eri: Front profile: Daily Clothing. This class will be presented via Keynote and is an art based class. This is a FLEX class and is PRE-RECORDED. This means students will watch the pre-recorded video. Students will engage in questions, class discussions, and art assignments. There will be optional homework. Students will be encouraged to share their artwork and engage with their fellow classmates in questions and discussions. No need to wait on others or feel rushed. 🔰 Flex classes are an excellent choice for families with busy schedules. 🔰 This class is a "flex" class, meaning there is no live component, and all interactions between students and the teacher happens on the class page. The live version links are at the beginning of this class description. FLEX FORMAT: 🔹 Video Content: Weekly videos with a step-by-step breakdown of the art assignments are posted. Some videos will have a 20 to 35 minute duration. The work time for the student will be roughly an hour long. Students will review the video. 🔹 Discussion Prompt/Question/Check-in: Students respond to a weekly discussion prompt and/or question(s) posted by the teacher. 🔹 Complete Artwork: Students spend time completing their sketches. 🔹 Submit Artwork: Students are required to post photos of their completed sketches in the classroom on the designated post. If the student would prefer to keep this private, they can post privately to the teacher as well. Keep in mind, sharing artwork is essential in a flex class. 🔹 Feedback: The teacher and students post positive feedback on each other’s work. Mrs. V offers private and public feedback at the request of the students. Individualized feedback will not be given unless directly requested. Maturity, kindness, and thoughtful comments are encouraged and cultivated in the classroom. #creative
Learning Goals
Students will learn the following art/drawing fundamentals:
✅ Utilizing basic shapes to create a more complex form; the full anatomy.
✅ Basic understanding of the male and female body.
✅ Proper measurements and proportions of the full body.
✅ How to execute multiple angles of the body; front, side, 3/4th and angled.
✅ The confidence to continue drawing the anime face on their own after the class has been completed.
✅ How to apply clothing and understand the following; direction of fabric, tension lines, different styles, different fits and more.

Mrs. Vallarta has been focusing on anime/art on Outschool since February 2018. As a personal avid anime enthusiast, she is familiar with many series, genres, characters and can teach how to execute any aspect of this. Mrs. Vallarta has her Bachelors in Fine Arts and has taught art for 18+ years. Five of those years has been online.
