Military Vehicles: Reading and Show-And-Tell
Class experience
US Grade Kindergarten - 3
Beginner Level
If your child is obsessed with military tanks, planes, ships, and helicopters, you are in the perfect place! My First Reading Club: Military Vehicles meets weekly for 25 minutes per class. Each class is independent of all the others and the content does not build from the previous class, so your child may come and go at any time from this ongoing class. Young learners will have an opportunity to gather virtually with friends and their teacher to listen to books being read to them about...
The goal of this class is to encourage reading and literacy and to make reading a fun activity!
I have over five years of experience teaching young students between the ages of 2 and 16 in an online environment. I love being able to positively influence my students all while having fun in class! Please note that since this class focuses on the topic of US military vehicles, there is some discussion of the weapons that are typically mounted onto each vehicle and the vehicle's mission/purpose in military use (i.e., target and launch missiles at enemy locations).
Bringing a military item (e.g., toy, picture, t-shirt, etc.) is encouraged for Show-and-Tell, but not required.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Each book discusses the types of weapons that the military vehicle is equipped with including machine guns, missiles, etc. All is discussed in an age-appropriate context for how the US military (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines) use these types of weapons on vehicles to protect citizens against enemies. The focus of each book is not on the weapons, but the vehicles themselves, the purposes of the vehicles, how they move around, speed, shape, number of crew members, etc.
