If your child is obsessed with cars, trucks, trains, tractors, and big working equipment, you are in the perfect place! My First Reading Club: Cars, Trucks, and Trains meets weekly for 20 minutes per class. Each class is independent of all the others and the content does not build from the previous class, so your child may come and go at any time during this ongoing class. Young learners will have an opportunity to gather virtually with friends and their teacher to listen to books being read to them about their favorite topic! Books will primarily be non-fiction, but there are 1-2 fiction books included. The class will be structured as follows: 1. Greetings 2. Storytime: Different books about cars, trucks, trains, tractors, and big work equipment will be read each week. If the book selection is short, two books may be read during one weekly class. 3. Show-and-Tell: Students may bring their favorite vehicle toy to share with the class 4. Goodbyes I teach and lead young learners in a patient and engaging environment. My teaching style is to make sure each student has fun while learning. My primary goal is for each student to enjoy reading and to learn that reading for pleasure can be a fulfilling hobby. My secondary goal is for students to enjoy being in class and interacting with the teacher and other students. Students will be able to interact with me and other classmates during the discussion of the books as well as during the Show-and-Tell portion of the class. Please reassure your child that they may speak in class if they'd like to during Show-and-Tell, but they are not required to speak if they don't feel comfortable doing so.
