Class Experience

Students will make sure all supplies that are needed are within their reach. Students will follow the step by step demonstration shown by the teacher and raise their hand to ask for help or a question. The teacher will check in with the students after each step to make sure no one gets left behind. Students will begin by drawing their giraffe following each step with the teacher. Next, we will color our giraffe making sure to color them really well with crayon or oil pastel. Outlining our giraffe in black crayon or oil pastel will follow. We will add clouds to the sky with white crayon or oil pastel. Finally, students will paint the sky using watercolors watching how the water does not stick to the crayon or oil pastel. We will share our giraffe with each other at the end of class.

Profile
Teacher expertise and credentials
I am a former K-12 Art Teacher who loves to teach drawing, painting, weaving, ceramics/pottery, and paper crafts.

I enjoy sharing my skills with children of various ages and watch their amazement at what they CAN accomplish.

Many students (and adults) feel they are not very good at art. I break down my lessons into small steps for anyone to create a masterpiece!

I love to read, sew, and create art with my 10 year old daughter!
