Description
Class Experience
This beginner class meets two times, and will start with "This Is a Flute". No musical experience necessary. In the first class we will talk about the flute family, and learn a little about the history of the instrument. We will also cover: -parts of the flute -assembling the flute -how to hold the flute -how to clean the flute -breathing and the air stream -articulation -making your first sounds on the flute headjoint Each student will have the opportunity to play their first sounds, and...
I have over 30 years experience teaching private lessons and group flute classes to children and adults. I have a Bachelor of Music degree in Flute Performance from the University of Arizona, and a Master of Music degree in Flute Performance from the University of North Texas. I am currently a freelance flutist in Hot Springs, Arkansas, and a university flute teacher.
For this first experience with the concert C flute, you will need a FLUTE. We will discuss in class what will be needed if you continue playing.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
