My Creative Writer's Notebook
In this class, I will demonstrate a variety of ways to write, going off student suggestions, in order to get practice on writing while learning grammar and sentence structure along the way. Students can then create artwork after the class is done as an option but usually they love it!

Class Experience
Writer's Notebook is a combination of creativity with small bursts of writing. I will begin by showing a variety of different Creative Writers Notebooks! We will discuss the various ways to be creative in our notebooks. 10 min- Various journal covers are shown for the cover and we will create an index to organize pages. 10 min- Dive into creative process - demonstrate each page with possible drawings, doodles or images and take 5 minutes to write in each page. Possible creative flair...
Students will be able to design their own unique Writer's Notebook. Students will be able to organize their index according to pages and topics. Students will be able to create 5 pages for topics in their notebooks.
I am a successful Outschool teacher with proven methods for success. I am a certified teacher with 15+ years of teaching in the public, private, homeschool, university model, online, or private tutoring sector. I have a BA in Business Communications, a writing minor, and a teacher's certification and have been Charlotte Mason trained at Ambleside University. I'm also trained to teach Saxon math in grades 1-4 and utilize a variety of methods in order to be successful. I have been a classroom first-grade teacher and am very familiar with the concepts needed to be taught at this young level to be successful. I can tailor my teaching for whatever needs occur and have an extensive library with multiple resources. I have a proven dynamic teaching style and animated approach to teaching and learning. In addition, I'm passionate about meeting socio-emotional needs, in addition to academics, and have since become involved in Gals On The Go Project which provides prevention and resiliency workshops to kids through engaging activities, games, role-playing, crafts, and socratic group discussions.

Please come to class with a brand new notebook, clear tape, a glue stick, a pile of magazines or advertisements that can be cut up, a picture of your child, thin markers, two pencils with erasers, and colored pencils.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
