In this one-time Science and basic Art class, the students will learn about cicadas and how they emerged this spring. We will move, play, and draw a cicada while socializing with others.

Did you know that a cicada lives underground for 17 years? 2021 is the year cicadas emerged by the millions. In this fun interactive class, the students will learn all about cicadas. We will learn about the characteristics of cicadas, where they live, how they move, and what they eat. We will discuss the life cycle of cicadas. We will look at pictures, videos, and listen to cicada sounds to answer questions and promote curiosity. The students will be encouraged to draw a cicada at the end of class. This class has movement, conversation, and uses a lot of imagination. This class will be fun and informative. My teaching style: I enjoy having fun while teaching and politely encouraging my students to remember the rules to help the class run smoothly. I always want the students to share and interact as much as possible while allowing shy learners to watch and engage as they feel comfortable. I strive to help all learning types feel included in my class. My goal is to have your student share all the interesting facts they have learned for days after the class. My personal style of teaching is engaging, energetic, enthusiastic, with a touch of silly. I hope to share my passion for learning about all living creatures with each of my students.
