My Best Friends: Story Time and Writing Activity
In this one time class, learners will listen to a story with their stuffed animal friends. Upon reading the story, the teacher will guide the learners through a writing piece.

Description
Class Experience
In this one time class, learners will introduce themselves and their stuffed animal friends. If a learner prefers not to talk on camera, they may step out and allow their stuffed animal friend to lead their introduction. After each learner has had a chance to introduce themselves, the teacher will begin to read Peanut Butter and Cupcake by Terry Border. Students will deepen their understanding of the aspects that create a good sentence. Students will also have the opportunity to practice using this new knowledge in a writing activity.
A one-page handout will be provided in the classroom. This document will need to be printed prior to class. Additionally, students will need a pencil with an eraser and a stuffed animal friend to read with. Extras: If time allows, learners will be able to color their picture during class. Please have crayons, markers, or colored pencils for class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
