Please have the outline of Santa traced on before class.Assessment
I will write a brief note to the student after class.Class Experience
We will paint Santa with watercolors. We will learn to use masking fluid to create a festive snowfall. The importance of using the correct ratio of water to paint will be discussed. Soft blending and highlighting techniques will be used on Santa first. Then we will discuss the best background colors to use. The students will be allowed to chose their own colors for the background. I offer just enough instruction for the student to feel comfortable while leaving room for them to explore and get creative. A little color theory is thrown in just for fun.
Learning Goals
Students will learn blending, hi-lighting and shading techniques along with some color theory. They will learn how to use their brush, be encouraged to mix colors and have fun!
