This ongoing class will introduce students to a different Broadway/Off-Broadway or West End musical every Monday. Class will combine music and video clips with slides and an interactive discussion as we explore the plot, characters, musical numbers, major themes, and professional run of each musical. The musicals covered in this class will be a mix of both classic and modern. As this class is ongoing, students are not required to attend every class and are welcome to join at any point. The plan of study for each week is as follows: “Christmas in July” 7/10: Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas 7/17: Elf 7/24: A Christmas Story “Little Known Musicals/Off Broadway Gems” 7/31: Hands On a Hardbody 8/7: Songs For a New World 8/14: Chess *please note that schedule is subject to change* **It is NOT required to know of or about any of the shows being discussed in class. The only pre-requisite is a love of theatre!**
