In this class, we will be learning a combination a song from a Broadway Musical! We will do a short warm up and talk about the musical, the characters, and the song we are dancing to. We will then learn the combination, and just have fun dancing it out! I welcome any and all questions from students along the way and will do my best to give individual attention to each dancer. This dance class will be at a beginner level. No previous dance experience necessary, just enthusiasm and willingness to learn!

Parental Guidance
Open space for dancing, bare feet or sneakers required. Please have water on hand so dancer can stay hydrated during class!

Hi there! My name is Julia and I am a dancer, singer, actor and arts educator. I am originally from Los Angeles but now live in New York City pursuing a career in Musical Theatre.
I teach a variety of classes including Creative Movement/ Sing-Along for ages 0-3, Musical Theatre Dance for ages 4+, and Beginning Ballet and Jazz. I also love to do story time!
I have been dancing for over 25 years and have been an arts educator for the past 10 years. I graduated from Muhlenberg College with a B.A. in Theatre and have since performed professionally in shows all over the country. I have taught dance and theatre to children of all ages in Los Angeles and New York. Most recently, I taught creative movement, hip hop and ballet to preschool children in New York City for 2 years. I have also worked as a theatre teacher with Middle Schoolers.
In my classes, I stress freedom of expression and having FUN! Dance is a fun and creative outlet, and I want my students to have the opportunity to let their personalities shine. I strongly believe that it is okay to make mistakes and I believe in the process, not perfection. I always say, if you mess up, "be strong and wrong!" I want my students to be comfortable making mistakes and using their time in dance class to let loose and be creative.
In my spare time, you can usually find me playing with dogs somewhere and eating my way through New York City! Can't wait to have you in class!Reviews
