This is a 6-week Musical Theatre Technique Course studying the three elements that make up 'Triple Threat Training' in Musical Theatre - Drama, Singing and Dance. The course is suitable for beginners and those with a little experience aged 7 to 10 years. Children should have an interest in all three elements. Each meeting will both build-on and practice techniques learned in each class. For Drama, we will be working on gaining confidence in speaking and using expression while acting through the use of Drama Games/Breathing & Speech Exercises/Acting Exercises. For Singing we will be practicing vocal exercises each week and working on our Musical Theatre song. For Dance, we will be doing a Jazz warm-up each week and working on basic steps in our routine. I like to praise and encourage. When I'm speaking or have music playing I may keep the students muted so they are able to hear me/the music clearly but I will be interacting and spotlighting the children throughout. The pace of the course will reflect the children in the class therefore this may change the order in which we learn/practice elements of the course.
Learning Goals
Students will learn how to perform an Introduction for an Audition - gaining confidence in presenting themselves. They will practice Drama, Vocal and Singing Exercises learning basic techniques. By the final class they will have learned a short Musical Theatre Routine including simple dance moves.
