Class will start with a quick introduction and then move into a warm up followed by stretch exercises. We will go over some dance moves and then learn a high energy routine to a song from a different hit musical each day! We will also play some freeze dance and finish off the lesson with a fun (stress-free) craft that goes with that day's theme! Day 1: ALADDIN- Warm up, stretching and learning a routine to the Genie song "Friend Like Me!" The last ten minutes we will work on a magic carpet...
Day 1- ALADDIN craft will be drawing a magic carpet. Supplies needed are a piece of paper and something to color with. Students are welcome to add anything they want to it like glitter, stickers, etc. Day 2- SPONGEBOB craft will be creating our own SpongeBob. Supplies needed will be a yellow (or any color) sponge and markers to draw SpongeBob on it. Day 3- HAMILTON craft will be creating a Hamilton bookmark. Supplies needed will be construction paper (or printer paper) and crayons or markers to decorate.
2 hours 45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
This class involves physical movement so please make sure that students have a space that will allow them to extend their arms, that is object free. Also make sure that students have a water bottle nearby.
