We will be exploring popular musicals in these lessons. Each class will begin with a warm-up activity or theatre game followed by learning a musical number as outlined below. This class is great for students who have taken my Intro to Musical Theatre class and want more! It is my goal not only to sing and dance, but for students to learn more about the skills needed to be a great performer. Throughout these classes students will learn more about how to use their body, voice and imagination to create characters as they perform fun musical numbers. At the end of each class, students can showcase what they've learned to their audience at home. No experience is required, but a general love of musical theatre is encouraged! Upcoming classes include (and not limited to) - April 16th - Rotten to the Core, Descendants April 23rd - You're Welcome, Moana April 30th- I Just Can't Wait to Be King May 7th - Hard Knock Life, Annie More dates and titles to come! Music is licensed through ASCAP.
Learning Goals
Students will improve their performance skills and have a greater appreciation for musical theatre.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello parents and students! Thank you for visiting my profile.
I am an elementary school teacher specializing in creative drama. Currently, I teach full time in a 2nd grade classroom. Outside of the classroom I work extensively in partnerships with many arts organizations, schools and theater companies across Chicago to bring educational theater programs to life. I am pursuing a Masters in Elementary Education from DePaul University and hold a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from Kansas State University.
I am excited to bring my skills to Outschool and to reach students with a spark for theatre and play from around the world. In my classes, your student will learn about the importance of collaboration and ensemble building in addition to the technical skills that make up a wide range of theatre disciplines; including, but not limited to acting and musical theatre. It is my objective to encourage students to explore their creativity in a space where they feel safe and supported.
I look forward to seeing your child in class!
