Description
Class Experience
Musical Theater Masterclass has three main elements: warm up, lesson and performance. Students are led through a vocal warm to make sure they are ready to sing, after that we will have a lesson on the history of the musical Into the Woods and the composer Steven Sondheim, finally, we will learn how to sing and perform two songs from the musical ("I Know Things Now" and "No One is Alone").
This Masterclass is educational but more importantly, it is fun. It is for young artists who really...Students will leave this class with an understanding of the musical "Into the Woods" the composer Steven Sondheim and the ability to sing two songs from the musical.
I am a trained musician, singer and actress and have been a part of many productions with broadway performers and directors. I am also a graduate of CalArts with a BFA in musical composition with a focus on musical theater.
2 files available upon enrollmentA printout of lyrics will be provided before the first class if you would like to print them out.
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
If you choose to watch the entire musical (something that is not necessary before class time), there are some topics and visuals that might be scary for younger students. We will not be looking at those moments in class so this is just in case you decide to watch before or after.
We will refer to the musical "Into the Woods" throughout.
