This week long camp brings Broadway to your Home! Your dancer will dazzle the stage while we dance to a new musical each day and share our talents with each other! Each class will begin with a brief introduction to the day, where each student will get to share something with the rest of the class, such as what they know about the musical of the day! Each class will introduce dancers to a different musical. Dancers will learn a variety of movement, technique and terminology related to Musical Theater Dance. Possible movements include, but are not limited to: plie, tondue, 5 positions of the feet, releve, port de bras, posse, pique, degage, grand battement, chaine, saute, eschappe, chasse, grapevine, pivot, kicks, heel toe walks, skips, hops, and leaps. We will practice balance, flexibility, and coordination skills. Most of all we will have FUN!
Please create a space that is open and large enough for your dancer to move, dance, jump and glide without bumping into things. Learners should wear comfortable clothing that they can easily move in. Since we are all Broadway Bound, fun, exciting, and stage worthy clothing is encourage, but not required. Learners should either wear ballet shoes or have bare feet. Please no socks, as dancers can easily slip while wearing them. Dancers may have a water bottle nearby, and take a sip when needed. Please help your learner know how to mute and unmute themselves. There could be times during the class when this skill is needed.
