I taught public school musical theater and chorus for 30 years, and I directed, cast, and choreographed my 300+ students each year in numerous musicals and musical revues throughout my career. I was a professional singer/dancer in theme parks and on cruise ships before becoming a teacher and continue to perform in local theater and in community chorus groups. I am a former United States National Aerobic Gymnastics Champion and former FIG judge for the sport.
The show has some lyrics that some parents might find naughty. Hamilton the musical covers the first public extra-marital affair in American political history. We will make sure the discussion is school appropriate, but parents need to make sure they know enough about the show to ensure that having your child learn about the story of Hamilton the way it is portrayed in the musical meets your parental standards.
