Musical Storytime!
In this 30 minute class, students will read a story and engage in musical activities related to the story of the day!

An informal assessment will be taken of each student in the class. Students will be assessed on their ability to recognize when to join in when the song starts, ability to listen to directions, ability to produce recently taught rhythms, and general classroom etiquette.Class Experience
In our musical story time students will hear the story, Pout Pout Fish. A story about a fish who has a grumpy demeanor, but that completely changes when something happens to him. Students will learn a song that enhances the story experience, as well as learning how to read rhythms using some fishy friends. Students will participate in real time and interact with the teacher and other students in the class. No prior knowledge is needed for this musical adventure, so hop on in, the water is fine!
Learning Goals
Students will be able to sing along with the Pout Pout Fish story.
Students will be able to clap rhythms containing quarter notes, rests, and eighth notes using associated word syllables.

Parental Guidance
The ending of Pout Pout Fish involves Pout Pout Fish receiving a 'smooch' from a shimmery fish who swims past him and causes him to be much happier than he was before.
