Description
Class Experience
Students will build upon their understanding of music using the following vocabulary: Form, Structure, Dynamics, Tempo, Timbre, Texture Students will gain confidence in their ability to compose their own musical structure with or without knowing how to read music.
Sonya has taught music for 20+ years. She is a music educator, singer and composer who grew up in a musical family. Her formal qualifications include BMus, MA and Postgraduate diplomas from Boston University, the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Trinity Laban College in London and the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University.
Students will be assigned short projects each week. At the end of the course, Sonya will combine these into a musical recipes book!
Paper Pencil & Eraser Pens, markers or crayons in a variety of colors.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Students will get feedback on weekly projects in written or video form.
No live meetings, and maybe some time outside of class.
