Learners will discuss with the teacher how they came to create their musically-inspired drawings and designs.Class Experience
In this class, students will listen to many different types of music, ranging from classical to jazz to world musics. For each listening example, students will draw what the music would sound like if it were a painting or drawing. In between each listening example, the teacher will offer their thoughts as well as what they drew. There are no right or wrong answers - just imagination and creativity! Learners will get to interact with me after each listening example through: discussion questions, brainstorming conversations, "revision" opportunities, sharing work opportunities, and evaluating ideas. Students will also have the opportunity to interact with other students if they would like. No required experience or knowledge necessary!
Learning Goals
Students will have an opportunity to hone their creativity, imagination, and critical listening skills in this musical-artistic activity. Students will translate what they hear in the sounds of a wide-ranging selection of musics to pen and paper (or crayons, colored pencils, or any other artistic implement!)
