Beginner Level
Throughout this ongoing course, each meeting will focus on a different letter with a musical twist. Learners will sing songs and identify music related words that begin with the letter of the week. Each meeting will follow a similar outline. Learners will start by singing and moving with the club theme song and/or rhyme. Learners will practice letter sounds and letter identification through songs and rhymes. National Music Standard MU:Cn11.0.Ka Demonstrate understanding of relationships between music and the other arts, other disciplines, varied contexts, and daily life.
During my 29 years as a music teacher I have had the opportunity to present this material to preschool-aged children. I love connecting music with other subjects.
Handouts will be uploaded to the classroom each week. Learners will need coloring supplies to complete the handout. Learners should bring an object or picture that corresponds with the letter of the week for "letter show and tell."
