Music Yoga Art Preschool: Summer Camp is a 4-day class where introductions to music, yoga and art are centered around a daily affirmation. The class begins with a welcome song where we sing everyone's names and warm up our voices. Then we take a few moments to learn the daily affirmation, chit-chat about ways we can incorporate it in our lives, and learn a breathing exercise before we warm-up our bodies with a 3-5 pose yoga sequence. After our bodies are warmed-up, we dance our wiggles out...
Musical artistic yogis will be exposed to basic musical concepts, introductions to yoga, encouraged to move freely and expressively, and inspired to imagine the possibilities, perfectly suited for 3-5 year olds. Some basic musical concepts taught in this class are big and little beats, musical contrasts, musical forms, and ear training. Introductions to yoga include breath work, mindfulness and pose technique. The art section is designed to get the creative juices flowing rather than perfecting techniques. Each learner will be encouraged to share interests and ideas to facilitate inclusivity, community and imagination.
Please refer to my teacher profile for my experience as a teacher. (In a nutshell, I have been teaching music for over 20 years, have a Masters of Music Degree from the Manhattan School of Music and have been practicing yoga for 15+ years. I am an amateur artist who loves everything crafty.)

Grown-ups will need to be familiar with the functions of audio and visual on Zoom and be nearby to Mute/Unmute if needed, check in with the yogi from time to time for safety, provide some safe space to dance and do yoga poses, and read through the Grown-Up Guide to be aware of what’s going to happen. (I also love when Grown-Ups participate! Off-screen, of course, per Outschool policy.) Please provide a safe and quiet space for your yogi to practice in and easy access to water. Materials needed: - Blank paper if you are unable to print the PDFs - Coloring utensils like crayons, washable markers or coloring pencils - Scissors and glue (Parental guidance recommended when using scissors.) - Optional: Beachy craft decor, stickers, straws, tape - A PDF Grown-Up Guide will be provided 24 hours in advanced detailing the lyrics of the songs we will sing, the yoga poses we will do, and the art pages.
