A one-time energetic music, yoga, and art class where we sing our sillies out, stretch our bodies, and wrap it all up with artistic inspiration.

Class experience

Musical artistic yogis will be exposed to basic musical concepts, introductions to yoga, encouraged to move freely and expressively, and inspired to imagine the possibilities, perfectly suited for 3-5 year olds. (Ages are flexible for this class.) Some basic musical concepts taught in this class are big and little beats, musical contrasts, musical forms, and ear training. Introductions to yoga include breath work, mindfulness and pose technique. The art section is designed to get the creative juices flowing rather than perfecting techniques. Each yogi will be encouraged to share interests and ideas to facilitate inclusivity, community and imagination. (Grown-Ups should be nearby to help with any technical difficulties.)
Please refer to my teacher profile for my experience as a teacher. (TLDR: I have been teaching music for over 20 years, almost all my employment experience has involved working with children, I have a Masters of Music Degree from the Manhattan School of Music and have been practicing yoga for 15+ years. I am an amateur artist who loves everything crafty.)
 1 file available upon enrollment
- A PDF Grown-Up Guide will be provided detailing the lyrics of the songs we will sing, the yoga poses we will do, and an inspirational art page or directions. This is not essential for participation during the class. See options below. - Needed for the PDF Page: Scissors, coloring utensils; glue, tape and craft decor are optional. - Optional: Blank paper if you do not have access to a printer. We can still make our project without the template.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Grown-ups will need to be familiar with the functions of audio and visual on Zoom, encouraged to be nearby to Mute/Unmute if needed, check in with the yogi from time to time for safety, provide some safe space to dance, do yoga poses, and make art, and read through the Grown-Up Guide to be aware of what’s going to happen. Water bottles are recommended.

Grown-Ups are encouraged to either prep the folding and cutting of the Art page before class, or during class if their learners are still building up hand strength.

Enabling Original Sound in Zoom Audio Settings will help me tremendously with being able to hear your yogi. It is highly recommended that you Enable Original Sound when doing music classes.

Because of the limitations of making music over the internet, there will be times during the lesson where the learners may be muted for optimal audio sound. There will be points throughout the class where we will be able to communicate and share ideas unmuted. Grown-ups are encouraged to be near by to help unmute or help familiarize your child with the mute and unmute function. Recordings are not available for this class.
PDF Grown-Up Guides are available for reference. Each Grown-Up Guide consists of the lyrics to songs, pictures and/or descriptions of yoga poses, and an art PDF that is referenced in the class.
