A shorter version of my energetic and personalized music, yoga, and art curriculum where we sing our sillies out, stretch our bodies, and wrap it all up with artistic inspiration.

Class experience

US Grade Preschool - 1
Beginner Level
Musical yogis will be exposed to basic musical concepts, introductions to yoga, encouraged to move freely and expressively, and inspired to imagine the possibilities, perfectly suited for 3-5 year olds. (Flexible age range accepted.)
Some basic musical concepts taught in this class are big and little beats, musical contrasts, musical forms, and ear training.
Introductions to yoga include breath work, mindfulness and pose technique.
The art section is designed to get the creative juices flowing rather than perfecting techniques.
Each learner will be encouraged to share interests and ideas to facilitate inclusivity, community and imagination. (Grown-ups should be nearby to help with any technical difficulties and yoga poses.)
Please refer to my teacher profile for my experience as a teacher. (TLDR: I have been teaching music for over 20 years, almost all work experience involves working with children, practicing yoga for 15+, am a lover of all things artistic, and have a Masters of Music Degree from the Manhattan School of Music. I am the Music Director at Chelsea Piers in NYC and I sing professionally at St. Patrick's Cathedral, The National Chorale and other orgs.)
For most of our classes yogis will need:
- Water Bottle
- Blank paper (or the PDF Art Page)
- Coloring utensils like crayons, washable markers or coloring pencils
- Yoga mat (optional)

For some specific classes where advanced notice will be provided as well as detailed in the class description, the learner may need:
- Inexpensive Watercolors, Chalk, Coloring Utensils, Paint, Art Supplies
- Glue/Tape
- Scissors (Parental Guidance is recommended)
- Recycled art material like scraps of paper or fabric, leaves, string/yarn, crafty things, bits of stuff that are around the house
- Baking supplies like flour, salt, oil, etc.

For all classes:
- A PDF Grown-Up Guide will be provided detailing the lyrics of the songs we will sing, the yoga poses we will do, and information regarding materials that we use during class. Please reach out if you do not see the materials posted, especially if you signed up within a week of class. I typically post materials for the following week at the end of the current lesson.
Regarding the physical practice of yoga, all learners are encouraged to move slowly and mindfully, and have enough flat space around them to remain safe in their surroundings. Water-bottles are recommended. Parental supervision and guidance may be needed if learners are unaccustomed to a physical practice. All learners practice yoga at their own risk.

The art portion of class can be optional; if you do not have the supplies needed, please feel free to substitute with materials you have on hand, do the craft at another time, or ask me for ideas if you're stumped. There is no pressure to have all the materials at all times. I spread out the types of art mediums used and I like to try and have a "PDF-mess-free-coloring-utensil-only-version" alternative.

Grown-ups will need to be familiar with the functions of audio and visual on Zoom and be nearby to Mute/Unmute if needed, check in with the learner from time to time for safety, provide some safe space to dance and do yoga poses, and read through the Grown-Up Guide to be aware of what’s going to happen.

Enabling Original Sound in Zoom Audio Settings will help me tremendously with being able to hear your musician make music. It is highly recommended that you Enable Original Sound when doing music classes and attempt a quiet location.

PDF Grown-Up Guides are available for reference. Each Grown-Up Guide consists of the lyrics to songs, pictures and/or descriptions of yoga poses, links or information to sources used, and an art PDF or game that was referenced in the class.
