Class Experience

US Grade Preschool - 1
WHO: Early elementary level learners who want to find the musical magic inside themselves
WHAT: An online music experience with a Colombian flair
WHEN: Each class will meet for 30 minutes a day for 4 consecutive weeks
WHERE: In your casita and here online
WHY: Did you love the music from Encanto? Would you like to learn more about the music, rhythms, dances, and instruments of Colombia? Come explore!

SHHHH!!! WE DON'T TALK ABOUT BRUNO!
But...
Day 1. Learn all about the Cumbia, a musical rhythm and traditional Colombian dance. We'll see if we can spot the rhythms in the music of the Casita. We'll have a vocal warm up that will put your singing muscles to the test!
Day 2. Today we'll add some dance moves to the song and start to discover our own magical musical gifts. You don't have to be perfect!
Day 3. Get ready to learn about form as we find out what makes a madrigal a madrigal, exploring the enchantment of working as an ensemble.
Day 4. What else can we do? Get ready to put it all together in a magical musical adventure with singing, dancing, movement, acting, and more!

My teaching style is creative, collaborative, and conversational. While I will come to lessons with a fully fleshed out lesson plan, I also listen to learners and am not afraid to improvise and adapt the curriculum to the class interests. Because of this, no two of my classes are ever the same. All learners' voices are valued and heard, and we work hard to create a sense of community and ensemble.
