In this music composition & theory winter break camp, we will learn how to write our own music in fun, engaging ways.
Day 1 - Learners will be introduced to the building blocks of music writing
Day 2 - Learners will begin to write their composition. They can choose from the following options:
a) write a song with lyrics and melody
b) write an instrumental solo melody
c) write a piano composition with melody and harmony
d) write a composition for more than one instrument
Day 3 - We will continue working on our compositions and look at some music notation software such as Finale or MuseScore
Day 4 - Learners will work toward completion of their composition. We will also review any music theory concepts that have come up over the course of the week.
*Please note that this class will be geared to learners' interest, so the above schedule is only meant to be a guideline and may be adapted as needed due to the class being learner-directed.**Learning Goals
Learners will work on music theory concepts and apply them to their original compositions. We will learn about music notation software as well.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
