In this one-time class, we will learn how to sing a major scale in any key using moveable Do. We will do this by using solfege, singing, hand signs, and a solfege guessing game. This class does not require any prior experience and is a fun way to learn a fundamental musical skill. We will start class with a brief vocal warm-up that will allow your learner to get comfortable in their voice. Then we will learn the signs for each solfege symbol and follow up by applying them to a Major scale. Lastly, we will play a game that will help your learner move the Major scale higher and lower.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in Music or Theatre or Arts from University of Wisconsin Oshkosh
I am passionate about all things related to creativity. From childhood, I would create musicals at family gatherings, wake up in the middle of the night to write stories, and belt out Christmas songs in the middle of July. That child-like creativity has carried me into adulthood and inspires the way I teach music.
I hold a Bachelor of Music with an emphasis in Music Business and nearly 10 years of teaching experience.
My teaching experience includes lessons in ukulele, voice, and small group music classes. As well as experience with both large and small music ensembles.
We all ask our children, "What do you want to be when you grow up?". The responses are both beautiful and bold. Their responses tell us who they want to be, what they want to do with their time, and most importantly tell us what they want to learn. When I was young, I wanted to be a pop star so I would sing, dance, and practice my "autograph". I didn't know that I was gaining skills like writing, coordination, and vocal control. I was just playing. Our children do the same. I encourage you to watch your learner and see what makes them light up. And if one of my classes is in line with makes your learner shine, then I want to be there to serve them as they navigate the pathway to their dreams.
