This course will focus on a different music theory topic each week and is a great companion course for the piano learner or any learner interested in how music works. Each week learners will be presented with an explanation and examples of the week's topic. Then learners will practice, using handouts and other materials. The learner will examine the elements of music to improve musical understanding and performance skills. Related National Standards: *MU:Pr4.2.4a Demonstrate understanding of the structure and the elements of music (such as rhythm, pitch, and form) in music selected for performance. *MU:Pr4.2.4b When analyzing selected music, read and perform using iconic and/or standard notation.
