Music Theory I will focus on the most basic of music concepts for the beginner theory student: the musical alphabet, the staff, lines and spaces, high vs. low pitch, and cleffs. We will learn about the Treble Cleff, the Bass Cleff, the lines and spaces, high vs. low pitches on the staff, and the staff itself. We will play music theory video games together and do some other fun worksheets to solidify the concepts! Please be advised that if you play french horn or viola or anything else that uses the ALTO CLEFF, this class might not be the right fit for you. Your child will leave knowing these concepts and he/she will be ready for Music Theory II: Fun and Games, where we learn about NOTR READING. That's a longer class because note reading is a much bigger concept!
Learning Goals
Students will learn:
--How to identify the TREBLE and BASS cleffs
