In this 7 week course, students will learn beginning music theory as they begin their journey as a musician. Upcoming musicians will learn rhythm, notations, notes, pitch, and much more!

Class Experience

US Grade 4 - 6
Beginner - Intermediate Level
This class will cover all that a beginner musician will need to know to be prepared for their upcoming private lessons, band class, orchestra class, etc. The students will learn from this 7 week course are what makes sheet music, how pieces can be different based on their rhythm and key signature, and how to overall read music.  I will use powerpoints and videos to teach my lessons. Throughout the course, I will also give constructive feedback on assignments and demonstration videos at least once or twice a week. Feedback and answers to questions will be given a day or two after recieving the message. Questions and feedback about the course is always appreciated!

7 Lessons

Lesson 1:
Introduction To Music
 The student will be able to recognize what makes music music and how they differentiate from one another.

Clefs and Staffs
 The student will be able to read bass clef, alto clef, and treble clef.

Special Signs
 The student will be able to recognize common signs such as repeats, crescendo and decrescendo.

Notes
 The student will be able to identify the correct notes in a given clef.

Parental Guidance
YouTube will be used as needed as a visual to teach the lesson.
Supply List
Loose leaf paper or manuscript paper (preferred). Loose leaf paper can be used to take notes such as for signs.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
